Original Item: Only One Available. WWI Imperial German Medical Officer’s Stone Grey Doeskin wool Field Greatcoat. This is an exceptional high-quality tailored uniform which was suitable for a German Officer to wear in both the field and for service dress. These are often seen in original photographs being worn from 1914-1916 in the field. The stonegrey/red piped blue collar combination was common within the Bavarian officer corps.

Jacket is fitted with Oberleutnant boards, each with a medical insignia on each. One shoulder board button is missing. The Jacket has a faux double breasted front, which closes with hooks and eyes, and has a storm flap secured by fabric covered buttons (one is missing). The coat is in very good condition, but does show signs of light moth damage, signs of honest use, and various period repairs.
